Architect Mark Schendel, FAIA (he/him) is Managing Partner of Studio Gang. Mark supervises each of the Studio’s projects from beginning to end, ensuring that the team has the necessary support to execute project deadlines and goals on time and on budget. Mark’s communication skills and management abilities have helped make Studio Gang’s highly recognized design work successful from multiple perspectives. His capacity for leading large team collaborations and his thoroughness in all phases of the work is recognized by clients, design teams, and builders alike. Mark oversees construction documentation, coordination, and administration on all projects, including the Aqua Tower, Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo, Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership, University of Chicago Campus North Residential Commons, City Hyde Park, St. Regis Chicago, and Columbia College Chicago Media Production Center.
Mark is a graduate of Florida A & M University with a Bachelor Architecture Science and Florida State University with a Bachelor of Pure Mathematics. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Ohio State University and a Master of Architecture II from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
