Thorsten Johann (he/him) is a Design Principal in Studio Gang’s Chicago office, where he leads design teams for large-scale, mixed-use residential projects. Driven by research, ethnographic studies, and real-time data, Tosh is currently applying his experience in designing and leading teams with a wide range of disciplines to the O’Hare Global Terminal. He has contributed to many built projects since joining the Studio in 2003, including Aqua Tower, City Hyde Park, and the St. Regis Chicago.
Originally from Munich, Germany, Tosh earned his Master of Architecture from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, and Industrielle Handelskammer Regensburg.
