Perry Strong is a Designer II in the Chicago office, where he has worked for over a decade, starting as an intern. Born and raised in Chicago, he is enamored with the curiosities and particularities of Chicago’s architectural fabric, a long-standing passion that has fueled his work in architecture. Drawn primarily to the Studio’s public projects, although he has contributed to a range of projects using a variety of skill sets, including the Spelman College Center for Innovation & the Arts and Kō’ula. Perry is most interested in architecture’s ability to incorporate diverse cultural behaviors within a single environment. He especially enjoys the design process early in the life of a project, drawing out concepts from research-based influences.
Outside of architecture, Perry explores his other artistic pursuits, including singing and music production, and enjoys collaborations that involve the intersection of music, graphic design, entrepreneurship, and architecture. While he has visited Italy, he has yet to see the Gran Paradiso, and also enjoys Vieques Island in Puerto Rico.
