Architect Melissa Naranjo-Barrientos is a Designer II in Studio Gang’s Chicago office. Drawing on her interdisciplinary background, Melissa strives to create buildings and spaces that balance cultural resonance and environmental responsibility. Before joining the Studio, Melissa was part of MASS Design Group, where she played a key role in the design and delivery of Hank Willis Thomas’ memorial, The Embrace, the Mamie and Emmett Till National Memorial, and the Eames Ranch site design.
Melissa holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, building on her studies at the University of São Paulo and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia, where she earned her Bachelor of Architecture. Outside the office, she enjoys sailing and exploring her new home, Chicago.
