Mauricio Sánchez

Architect Mauricio Sánchez (he/him) is a Technical Design Director in Studio Gang’s Chicago office, where he leads design teams for large-scale mixed-use, residential, and tower projects. Mauricio’s skills in drafting, hand drawing, and research inform his approach to design, which involves testing materials toward the creation of new architectural forms. He is currently working on the O’Hare Global Terminal. Mauricio was a key team member in the design and construction phases of Aqua Tower and has led teams for the Brick Weave House, Shoreland, City Hyde Park, and MIRA.

Originally from Cali, Colombia, Mauricio studied the Theory of Modern Architecture at the Universidad Nacional and holds a Master of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mauricio leads the studio’s quality assurance and quality control program through periodic peer reviews.
