Laura Ettedgui (she/her) is a Design Director in Studio Gang’s Chicago office. She has professional experience in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, and structural engineering, and is drawn to public and infrastructural projects where these disciplines converge. At Studio Gang, Laura has led the design of civic, educational, and cultural projects, including the University of Chicago Campus North Residential Commons; the landscape architecture of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts; and Polis Station, the Studio’s contribution to the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial. Laura currently serves as Project Leader for the O’Hare Global Terminal.
Laura returned to the Studio in 2019 after four years abroad, three of which were spent leading urban design and landscape architecture projects at Public Work in Toronto, including Nepean Point, The Bentway, and Google’s Sidewalk Labs neighborhood on Toronto’s waterfront. Through these varied experiences, Laura has cultivated an expertise coordinating and collaborating with a wide range of disciplines and stakeholder groups, easily switching gears from the conceptual to the technical.
Laura holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University, where a visiting lecture from Jeanne first prompted her to join the Studio in 2012. She also holds a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. Laura calls many places home, including Florida, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Venezuela, and of course Chicago, where she can be found rummaging for vintage treasures, shooting pool, and stalking the roving tamale salesman.
