Josh Ellman (he/him) is Studio Gang’s Principal of Marketing and Communications. Located in the New York office, he leads the Studio’s marketing and communications team, promoting the Studio’s work and values to help grow its innovative portfolio and diverse network of collaborators.
An adaptable communications professional with a diverse background in psychology, media relations, gender theory, and fashion, he believes in architecture’s capacity to embed within the collective cultural imagination and make meaningful contributions to the dialogue around today’s most challenging social issues. Prior to joining Studio Gang, Josh served as the Head of Communications for Adjaye Associates, where he directed the firm’s communications strategy, including for the launch of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Currently based in New York, Josh has also called Boston, Sydney, San Francisco, and London home. Outside of the Studio, he pursues his interests in social justice, gender equality, mental health awareness, and LGBTQ rights advocacy. He holds an MSc in Gender and Media from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
