Architect Jonathan Izen is a Project Leader in the Studio’s San Francisco office, where he has been integral to the team designing Mission Rock Building F. Previously, he worked as a research assistant at the Center for Spatial Research at Columbia, using global and local datasets to study phenomena of the built environment. Jonathan was drawn to the Studio for its ability to translate details and activate spaces beyond architectural boundaries.
He holds a Master of Architecture from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Outside of architecture, Jonathan enjoys complex fabrication and precision machining, engaging with both digital and analog tools to produce objects and machines, and has a passion for traveling by train.
