Francesca Johanson

Francesca Johanson (she/her) is the Publications Manager, working closely with the Publications Director to share Studio Gang’s work and ideas with a variety of audiences through the development of publications and exhibitions. Drawn to the Studio’s ecological practices, as well as their extensive physical archive and gallery space in Chicago, Francesca brings her skills and experience as a writer, editor, and researcher.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Francesca holds a Bachelor of International and Global Studies from the University of Sydney and a master’s degree in Critical, Curatorial, and Conceptual Practices in Architecture from the Columbia University GSAPP. Prior to joining the studio, she managed public programs for a design non-profit and curated exhibitions for an architectural photography gallery in Sydney.

Outside of the office, Francesca’s interests include reading, photography, and long cycling trips in the summer.
