Amy Lawlor

Amy Lawlor (she/her) is a Principal in our Chicago office and serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer, leading recruitment, supporting the design team across offices, and furthering the Studio’s commitment to equity and diversity. Drawn to Studio Gang for its advocacy of social and environmental progress, Amy brings over a decade of experience in the field of Human Resources in non-profit and for-profit settings, having led all aspects of HR including recruitment, process improvement, performance management, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Studio Gang, she spent four years managing HR in real estate development and property management, where she became immersed in the world of design, architecture, and construction.

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Hailing from southeast Tennessee, she spent a decade in Atlanta before moving to Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Outside of the studio, Amy enjoys reading and traveling, having visited every continent (except Antarctica) twice!
