Mae Smith

Mae Smith (she/her) is a Designer II in Studio Gang’s Chicago office. With a strong foundation in drawing and model-making, Mae works with design teams to develop physical models and custom installations that test ideas, materials, and physical properties. She recently supported the fabrication and installation of two international exhibitions, The Living Orders of Venice, which appeared at the 2025 Biennale Architettura, and The Art of Architectural Grafting, a new exhibition which was featured at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin

Originally from Northern Michigan, Mae holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Outside of work, she enjoys plein air drawing, spending time at Lake Michigan, and making music with her brother.
