Arty Vartanyan

Arty Vartanyan (he/him) is a Designer II in the San Francisco office. Focused on the interplay of architecture, landscape, and infrastructure in sustainable place-making, he shares the Studio’s commitment to creating lasting, positive impact for our communities, cities, and environment.

Arty’s prior experience at Brooks + Scarpa Architects in Los Angeles and Surfacedesign, Inc. in San Francisco included work on multidisciplinary projects ranging from climate-adaptation masterplans to affordable housing developments.

Originally from Los Angeles, Arty holds dual Master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California. Outside work, he enjoys painting, hiking, and classic films.
