Aria Griffin (she/her) is a Designer II in the Chicago office, where she is working on the Women’s Leadership Center at Williams Bay in Wisconsin. She previously worked on the Spelman College Center for Innovation & the Arts. Aria approaches design through the lens of identity formation, equity, and social justice, and is hopeful that the profession will become more inclusive and diversified. She was drawn to the way the Studio puts people and communities at the heart of the design process.
Aria holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she was awarded the inaugural Phil Freelon Fellowship as well as the Araldo A. Cossutta Prize for Design Excellence. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a minor in African and African American Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Originally from Los Angeles, Aria considers the Caribbean—where she has family—her home away from home. Outside the office, she enjoys playing tennis and golf, watercolor painting, and exploring cities on foot.
