Laura Haak (she/her) is a Project Leader in the New York office. She brings to the Studio over a decade of robust experience working on large, complex cultural projects from start to finish. She is adept at steering projects in New York City through approvals and closeout, cultivated during her tenure at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, where she was a core team member on The Shed throughout the life of the project. She is currently leading the team for Shirley Chisholm Recreation Center in Flatbush, Brooklyn, now in construction.
Laura is passionate about the ways design, material, and craft create social, environmental, and experiential impacts. Originally from New Jersey, Laura was drawn to the Studio’s commitment to innovation, experimentation, and process. She holds a Master of Architecture II from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute. Outside of the office, you can find Laura on the move as a runner, a parent, and a traveler; she has lived and studied in Italy, Ecuador, and China.
