Architect Zoë Small is a Senior Design Director in Studio Gang’s New York office. Zoë brings over 25 years of experience leading significant cultural, educational, and public space projects around the world. She excels at developing innovative, boundary-pushing architectural solutions at all scales through creative and effective project leadership.
Prior to joining Studio Gang, Zoë was a Principal at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, where she served as Project Director for high-profile projects such as Google’s revitalization of Pier 57 in New York, the renovation and expansion of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive at the University of California, Berkeley. She also served on the firm’s operations committee, developing streamlined operational and project delivery processes that ensured the successful design and execution of complex projects.
Zoë is a recognized leader within the architecture community. She serves on the AIA Scholarship Committee, which provides aspiring architects with tuition assistance and research grants. She has also lectured at the AIA Women in Architecture forums and regularly participates in architectural juries for the nation’s leading architecture programs, including at Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Zoë holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, with time spent studying in Italy, Spain, France, and Portugal. A native New Yorker and adventurist, she is always seeking her next mountain to climb or century to cycle.
