We’re excited to announce that Design Principal and Partner Weston Walker has relocated to his native California to lead the firm’s San Francisco office. In his new role, Wes will amplify Studio Gang’s expanding West Coast presence by providing our clients and collaborators with local leadership at the firm’s highest level.
With a nearly 20-year tenure at Studio Gang, Wes plays a key role in design leadership and, as part of the firm’s partner group, shaping the strategic direction of the Studio globally. He established the Studio’s New York office in 2013 and grew it to a team of nearly 40 architects with a diverse portfolio of work across the East Coast and beyond.
“Weston’s move to San Francisco deepens our roots and strengthens our investment in the West Coast while ensuring continuity of leadership and design direction,” said Jeanne Gang, Founding Partner at Studio Gang. “His experience growing our New York office makes him uniquely suited to lead the next chapter of the San Francisco studio.”
Wes will work to broaden the Studio’s portfolio and impact across the West Coast alongside Campus Environments Principal Steve Wiesenthal, who will transition into a new role primarily focused on cultivating existing and new relationships while continuing to contribute his expertise to campus projects. Together they will build on recent accomplishments such as the recently completed expansions of the California College of the Arts and the UC Santa Cruz Kresge College—each of which were recognized with honor awards from both AIA San Francisco and AIA California. Studio Gang also received AIA California’s 2025 Firm Award.
Design Principal Arthur Liu will assume leadership of the New York office. Over the course of his decade with the Studio, Arthur has delivered some of the firm’s most high-profile and complex projects in New York City and beyond, including 11 Hoyt and the Shirley Chisholm Recreation Center, slated to open later this year. His leadership reflects Studio Gang’s commitment to recognizing talent from within and ensuring continuity for clients and teams in New York.
“Arthur has been critical to the incredible success our New York Studio has enjoyed over the past ten years. His tenure, depth of experience, and strong relationships have positioned him well to continue to build on the New York office’s accomplishments,” said Gang.
