“The best stroke is the quad, an outdoor room that occupies land formerly given over to an athletic field and a now-closed portion of Greenwood Avenue. It’s outlined by the dorm and two neighboring buildings, the neo-Gothic Henry Crown Field House and the modernist Smart Museum of Art. There used to be nothing but dull open space between these buildings. Now they frame a lively campus crossroads.”
