Campus North Residential Commons Wins Best of Design Award

December 4, 2017

The Architect’s Newspaper announced the winners of its fifth annual Best of Design Awards, and the Studio’s Campus North Residential Commons at the University of Chicago was awarded Building of the Year Midwest, tying with Weiss/Manfredi’s Kent State Center for Architecture and Environment Design.

Campus North is designed as a new “front door” for the University—a welcoming portal that strengthens connections between the campus and surrounding community. Through its communal spaces and amenities that enhance the immersive living-learning environment of the University’s House system, it also enriches students’ social and academic experience.
