Jeanne Gang speaks candidly with Jarrett Fuller on his podcast about how research drives her practice, how she builds culture at Studio Gang, and how the idea of ‘actionable idealism’ drives her work.
“I like to work with organizations that are looking for design to help them create a new a new part of their future. And so that describes the type of projects we do. But…sometimes the projects aren’t from a client and really are generated from within the studio or within my brain, and we talk about how we can do something with design to make something change or be enhanced or transformed. ‘Actionable idealism’ comes out of this…and it really does describe my motivation for doing design. And I would say that extends to my colleagues that I work with at Studio Gang. We all really enjoy looking for things that we can make happen.”
