Working to establish the Rive Gauche neighborhood in Paris’s thirteenth arrondissement, the Société d’Etude de Maitrise d’Ouvrage et d’Aménagement Parisienne (SEMAPA), a Parisian development company, is hosting competitions to develop three sites along the left bank of the Seine, including the Masséna-Chevaleret (lot M9A).
Competing for the M9A site, a program that includes 8,650 square meters of residences, shops, and spaces for the University of Chicago’s Paris program, Studio Gang is teamed with French developer Icade and local architect Parc Architectes. The shortlist for the M9A site also includes teams led by Crédit Agricole and ENGIE with Steven Holl Architects, H2o, and GRAU; QUARTUS with Périphériques Marin + Trottin Architectes; Eiffage with Red Architectes and Dominique Lyon; and Giboire with Beckmann N’Thépé Architectes and Philippe Rizzotti Architecte.
