The buildings would frame a village green, symbolizing the idea of community. Gang calls the idea ‘Polis Station,’ a reference to the word for a Greek city-state and a society characterized by a sense of community.

Whether or not such proposals can help restrain the city’s violence, it’s significant that they’re being floated at all. They speak to the desire of a rising generation of architects to engage and transform the world, not simply to do the bidding of the marketplace.”
