Arcus Center Featured in “Cordwood Building”

Rob and Jaki Roy, who founded the Earthwood Building School in West Chazy, New York, are two of the most preeminent cordwood masonry experts in the United States and beyond. The Roys spent many patient hours lending their knowledge and expertise to the architecture, engineering, and construction teams responsible for the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership—the facade of which could not have been achieved without their insight and training.
In this second edition of Cordwood Building: A Comprehensive Guide to the State of the Art, Rob Roy presents the latest innovations in cordwood masonry from around the world. The publication features Studio Gang’s essay Merging a Traditional Building Method with Commercial Construction Technology, which describes the process and methods used to construct the Arcus Center and was presented at the Continental Cordwood Conference in 2015.
