Studio Gang is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join its Chicago or New York office. Under the guidance of the Chief Information Officer, the IT Support Specialist will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to Studio Gang IT standards. This role will provide technical and desktop support for the entire studio. This includes installing, configuring and performing software upgrades and maintenance. An ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment with a high volume of on-going tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and assist in a variety of IT support activities including, but not limited to: providing support to end users in problem resolution; developing troubleshooting scripts for the help desk; providing technical assistance in setup, installation, and configuration of end – user hardware and software in compliance with SGA IT standards
• Perform upgrades to hardware and software
• Create standard desktop and laptop Windows/Mac configurations and build the imaging servers and processes
• Review current imaging processes, make process improvement recommendations and ensure imaging standards are communicated and followed consistently
• Manage user file spaces and permissions on various servers throughout the infrastructure using Microsoft group policies
• Monitor and distribute software to the desktops
• Build and manage workstation tools to ensure up-to-date images with reliable enterprise desktop backup and antivirus software
• Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems
• Research and analyze end-user products and systems available in the marketplace and make recommendations to management
• Participate in detailed virtualization analysis of current environment
• Evaluate and test VMware products and solutions
• Work with consultants and/or third parties’ resources to define, develop and deploy virtual technology solutions
Essential Functions:
50% – Workstation and Server Management
• Work within users’ schedules to install and configure appropriate hardware and software on computers
• Create and maintain various workstation inventory, remote control, PC/Mac imaging, backup, antivirus systems
• Create and maintain internal technical documentation for all workstation management systems
• Track individual performance using standard support metrics
• Manage day-to-day operations of AV equipment used for office-wide and client meetings
20% – Central Administration File Share Management
• Monitor file space usage and access; request space increases as necessary
• Support and troubleshoot problems that occur, ensuring minimal disruption to the users
• Work with outside vendors to ensure proper file space access
20% – Project Management
• Participate in projects where desktop support planning, estimation, and implementation are required
• Coordinate and completes desktop support project tasks including setting deadlines, monitoring and summarizing progress to IT Manager
• Identify, log, analyze and manage potential and actual issues, risks and actions under the direction of leadership
10% – Vendor Management
• Participate in discussions with SGA internal staff and other SGA teams where vendor support is required
• Manage vendor relationships and serve as a contact for vendor representatives of hardware, software and operating systems
• Maintain industry standards and stay abreast of new software, solutions, releases, product enhancements
Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred
• The following IT certifications are desirable: Microsoft MCP, Microsoft MCSE, Microsoft MCTS, MCITP Desktop, and MCITP
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an IT support role, experience working in a creative environment is a plus
• Professional experience installing IT hardware and software
• Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with all levels of the studio and external vendors
• Strong experience and troubleshooting skills in networking, remote connectivity issues, VPN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, group policy, backups, imaging solutions
• Must be a self-starter, highly organized and able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
• Available to be on-call outside normal hours of operation, including weekends

The salary range for this position at the time of posting is $75,000-$100,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience and location.
