“Given the huge stakes—[asian] carp could threaten the Great Lakes' ecosystem and their commercial and recreation fishing industry, which bring in an estimated $7 billion a year—the publication of these illuminating books is welcome. What happens to the river, the books make clear, is much more than a plumbing issue.”
