Yongwoo Park is a Design Team Member in Studio Gang’s New York office. Interested in architecture’s ability to provoke dialogue on urgent urban issues through visualization and representation, he was drawn to the Studio for its diverse body of work that connects with many different types of people and for the original questions that each project raises and addresses. After completing an internship in summer 2018 he is now a full-time team member working on the Studio’s mixed-use tower in Los Angeles’ Chinatown neighborhood.
Yongwoo holds a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), where his thesis investigated the correlation between economic modeling in real estate practices and tectonic manipulation of building systems in tower design. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea. Outside the office he’s an avid fan of salsa dance and music and recently contributed to the exhibition EXIT Architecture at the Benenson Center at Art Omi in Upstate New York.
