Nimet Anwar is a Design Team Member in Studio Gang’s Chicago office, working on cultural and civic projects. She became interested in architecture through travel and was drawn to the Studio for its engagement in large-scale global problems such as housing and climate. During her time at Rice University, where she earned her Master of Architecture degree, she received the H. Russell Pitman Graduate Fellowship in Architecture to travel throughout South Africa to research open-pit mines. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Prior to Studio Gang, Nimet worked at a small-scale residential firm in Dallas. She considers Dallas home and enjoys music, reading, and volunteering at local animal shelters. Her favorite bodies of water include the Strait of Gibraltar, the Pacific Ocean, and Lake Ontario.
