Architect Jordan Hicks (he/him) is a Project Leader working for the Studio in Chicago. Hailing from western New York, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Architecture with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, where he won the Saarinen-Swanson Writing Prize. Jordan joined Studio Gang in 2013 and has played a key role in residential projects such as MIRA, seeing that project through from Concept Design to Construction.
Outside of the office, Jordan enjoys designing conceptual projects and writing architectural criticism, which can be found in the journals MONU, PLAT, and the Avery Review, among others. He is currently working on a piece about the Cahokia Mounds for inclusion in a forthcoming volume of Midwestern architecture. Jordan was a cofounder of the arts space/experimental music venue Open Lot in St. Louis. In the summer, he can often be found at one of Chicago’s many beaches along Lake Michigan, feeling very, very relaxed.
