Project Leader - Chicago

Studio Gang is seeking an experienced Project Leader with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience to join our friendly and supportive culture of design professionals. Licensure is preferred but not required.

Project Leaders are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration.

Required Skills and Experience
- Must possess and have demonstrated the design, communication and organizational skills needed to lead an A/E team through all stages of project design, documentation, construction, or project completion.
- Strong design and communication skills.
- Ability to generate and/or identify strong design ideas and concepts simultaneously with internal project teams and external project consultants.
- Previous experience as a team member on projects for a significant portion of the design and construction sequence.
- Experience with the on-going administrative management of projects including maintaining project schedules, reviewing project scope progress, project-related costs, pre-approving invoices.
- Exceptional time management skills for themselves as well as for their team and consultants.
- Advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and graphic sensibilities.

Responsibilities
Included but not limited to:
- Managing all aspects of assigned projects.
- Coordinating the design, technical, and administrative aspects of the project.
- Organizing internal design reviews and workshops.
- Ensuring the design is advanced appropriately and iteratively through each stage of the design process.
- Working with Studio Gang’s Design Management leaders to estimate fees, determine scope of work, prepare, and refine proposals and contracts.
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and programs.
- Serving as primary liaison to clients, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to bring schedule, budget, and scope of work to completion.
- Coordinating with Studio Gang’s Marketing and Communications team to prepare images and narrative for external press and promotion.
- Mentoring and developing other staff and team members.
- Participating in presentations and meetings as needed and requested.

Social Media & Communications Coordinator

Studio Gang is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Social Media & Communications Coordinator to join our talented Marketing & Communications team full-time in our New York office. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Principal, the Social Media & Communications Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to strategically enhance the visibility of the Studio and its leadership by developing and curating thoughtful website and social media content. Beyond this, they will pay a key role in supporting the promotional, PR, and business development efforts of the Marketing & Communications team.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for uniting visual and written elements to tell compelling stories about on social media platforms to diverse audiences online. They will also possess a fluency in content trends and how to optimize engagement and impact on various platforms. This will involve working closely with the Studio’s architectural, visualization, shop, and HR teams to develop content that highlight the unique aspects of the Studio’s work, process, and culture.

Beyond the focus on social media, the Social Media & Communications Coordinator will also play a critical role in supporting the Marketing & Communications team. They will support the development and organization of press lists, press packs, and public collateral and help to coordinate photoshoots and documentation of our work. They will also contribute in various ways to key promotional efforts for the Studio, including coordinating and promoting speaking engagements and tours, producing award submissions, and developing collateral such as staff bios and headshots.

Responsibilities
- Developing compelling content that communicates the Studio’s work, process, and culture on website and social media platforms (website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter).
- Preparing materials – including selecting imagery, developing video, and crafting text – appropriate to promote our work, process, culture, and events across both owned and earned digital media.
- Supporting PR Director on the development of press materials, including press packs, press releases, and public collateral.
- Supporting photography and videography of Studio and its projects, including coordinating photoshoots and developing shot lists.
- Monitoring the Studio’s press inbox and managing certain incoming press requests.
- Working with the Chief People Officer and HR Director to develop and monitor online recruitment strategies.
- Supporting the Marketing & Communications team in the redesign and relaunch the Studio’s website.
- With guidance from PR Director and Principal of Marketing & Communications, working with clients and external PR agencies to promote key public-facing events such as project milestones, building openings, and speaking engagements.
- Collaborating with the Marketing & Communications teams on business development and promotional initiatives, including production of awards submissions, coordination of studio and building tours, drafting staff bios, processing staff headshots, and creating newsletters.
- Working with the Marketing & Communications team to develop workflows that ensure consistency in messaging across all externally facing material, both print and digital.

Required Skills and Experience

- 1-3 years of A/E industry experience in a marketing or communications-focused role
- Passion for digital communication tools and technologies, including photography, video, and social media, as well as accompanying analytics and benchmarking tools
- Proficiency in social media management and analytics technologies Strong visual storytelling skills, especially website design
- Excellent writing skills and graphic sensibility
- Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, design, marketing, communications, or equivalent
- Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required

PR Manager or Director

Studio Gang is seeking a proactive and collaborative Public Relations (PR) professional to join our talented Marketing & Communications team full-time in our Chicago or New York office at the manager or director level, depending on experience. Reporting to the Marketing Principal, the PR Manager/Director’s primary responsibility is to amplify the Studio’s impact by crafting compelling stories about our Studio’s values and work for diverse external audiences and media outlets.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, uniting visual and written assets to tell stories about the Studio that are clear, consistent, and resonant. The role involves leading the press and PR strategy for the Studio, working closely with clients, journalists and media professionals, and Studio leadership to identify, pitch, and secure strategic placements that enhance the visibility of the Studio. The PR Manager/Director will also work with external photographers and videographers to capture relevant visual assets of our work.

The PR Manager/Director will also work collaboratively with the other members of the Marketing & Communications team to enhance the visibility of the Studio and its leadership in strategic ways. This includes supporting a range of promotional and business development initiatives, from planning events on behalf of the Studio to coordinating speaking engagements and leadership’s attendance at key industry events and producing awards submissions. The PR Manager/Director will also be involved in the strategy of oversight of the Studio’s digital and social platforms – including strongly supporting an upcoming redesign of our website.

Responsibilities
- Alongside Marketing Principal, developing top-level PR strategy for the Studio, its leadership, and projects, including identifying key press, speaking engagement, and event attendance opportunities.
- Crafting project-specific PR plans. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and external PR firms to craft project-specific PR plans and coordinating project-based events.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and key press, both within and outside architecture and design. Maintaining an up-to-date list of press contacts for the Studio.
- Crafting and distributing press releases on behalf of the Studio. Pitching stories to secure strategic placements in relevant print and digital media outlets.
- Coordinating press interviews for Studio leadership, including scheduling, developing talking points, providing background information on journalists and publications, and related tasks. Media monitoring.
- Leading tours of our offices and projects for external audiences, particularly members of the press.
- Developing promotional collateral for the Studio’s work and events, including project narratives and press packs.
- Working with the Marketing Principal to redesign and relaunch the Studio’s website.
- Coordinating and overseeing all photography and videography for the Studio’s projects.
- Collaborating with the Marketing & Communications teams on business development and promotional initiatives as needed, including production of awards submissions, coordination of speaking engagements, development of staff bios, and planning of Studio-hosted events.
- Working with the Marketing & Communications team to develop workflows that ensure consistency in messaging across all externally facing material, both print and digital.
- Supporting transition to and maintenance of PR collateral and data in systems such as OpenAsset, Deltek, and ConstantContact.

Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years experience handling PR, press, communications, or similar for an architectural practice
- Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, design, marketing, communications, or equivalent
- Strong organizational and management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
