Lydia Meyer is Shop Coordinator, working out of Studio Gang’s Chicago office. Once a student at the Montessori school just a block away, she finds herself back in familiar territory after graduating in 2014 from Bard College in Hudson Valley, New York. At Bard, Lydia earned bachelor’s degrees in both biology and studio art.
Drawn to Studio Gang for its shared love of ornithology and design, Lydia is interested in how the cultivation of “new” natural spaces can support humans and the environment without sacrificing urbanity. Before joining the Studio, she worked for pioneering installation artist Judy Pfaff, receiving expansive hands-on training with a variety of materials and tools. Through previous experiences making sculpture, furniture, and spaces for performance, Lydia brings to the Studio expertise in fabrication with wood and metal.
