Katie Stranix is a Design Team Member in Studio Gang’s New York office with experience on community-centric cultural and public projects, including theAmerican Museum of Natural History Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation. Katie is interested in the transformative quality of architecture across scales: its ability to amend, enhance, or complement its context. A skilled researcher, she is particularly knowledgeable of precedents, drawing on her wide-ranging travels across the globe.
Katie was drawn to the Studio for the considered responsiveness of each project to the scale of the individual, the community, and the environment. Hailing from Vienna, Virginia, she is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University, where she was awarded the Wendy Elizabeth Blanning Prize and the William Wirt Winchester Fellowship.
