Jordan Hicks is a Design Team Member in Studio Gang’s Chicago office. Jordan has assisted with the design of the Folsom Bay Tower in San Francisco from concept through construction, focusing on building massing, unit layouts, and mechanical and electrical system coordination. Jordan was drawn to Studio Gang by the office’s working methods, which seek symbiosis between strong design ideas and technical constraints—a great way to learn how to practice architecture.
Outside of the office, Jordan works independently on architectural criticism and conceptual design projects. His work and writing can be found in the journals Dimensions, MONU, and PLAT, among others. His latest piece, an examination of John Portman’s work through the lens of electronic and experimental music, can be found in the Avery Review.
Jordan is a LEED Green Associate and is working toward licensure. He holds a Master of Architecture degree with High Distinction from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
