Isra Omar is the Studio’s Payroll and Billing Specialist, working out of the Chicago office. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in Arabic at DePaul University and previously served as staff accountant at Merit School of Music. Fascinated by Aqua Tower and Vista Tower, Isra was also drawn to the Studio for the opportunity to expand her accounting work into the people-centric world of Human Resources.
Isra is dedicated to public service and in 2016 she received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Obama for her work with the Muslim American Leadership Alliance (MALA). As part of her work with MALA, she also participated in a panel discussion about gender inequality at the World Wide Women conference in San Francisco, representing both MALA and the Malala Foundation.
A Chicago native, Isra loves fashion and is currently taking sewing lessons. She loves to swim, cook, read, and travel. She has a soft spot for the West Coast, particularly Oregon, one of her favorite places to visit for its beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and national parks.
