Architect Elena Bresciani joined Studio Gang in 2017, working in both Chicago and New York. She designs places for people to live, work, and play, with a focus on making interesting spaces that offer an element of surprise to provoke new perspectives of our surroundings. Drawn to Studio Gang for its sensitivity to urban and environmental context as well as attention to detail, Elena especially enjoys unfamiliar and challenging project types. Her multi-cultural background inspired her pursuit of architecture as a way of engaging with different people while exploring the world through building projects. She has gained significant experience designing complex projects and specific expertise in façade design and execution through her work with numerous firms, most recently with Front, SOM, and BIG. Elena holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University.
Outside of the studio Elena enjoys traveling and discovering new places, art and performance, reading, and real estate. She is particularly drawn to deserts and expansive landscapes such as the Sahara, Iceland, and the Uyuni salt flats. Her favorite bodies of water include the Mediterranean Sea, site of endless joyful memories of family vacations, and the Great Barrier Reef, which she hopes to revisit soon and further explore.
