Project Leaders

We’re searching for experienced Project Leaders with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience to join our Chicago, New York, and San Francisco offices.

Project Leaders are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist senior leadership in directing and managing the project team, mentoring staff, representing the firm to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents.

A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit) are required. Must have prior project management and strategic planning experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect is strongly preferred.

Design Team Members

We’re currently hiring designers with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Chicago, New York, and San Francisco offices.

Design Team Members work on all phases of design, from conceptual design to construction administration. This role is responsible for significant aspects, daily design, and/or technical development of projects and must exhibit exceptional design talent and a deep understanding of all project phases.

Design Technology Leader

Studio Gang is seeking a Design Technology Leader to ensure the Studio is effectively utilizing the latest digital tools and technologies in the design process. The primary role of the Design Technology Leader will be unifying the office’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) efforts for all projects through all phases of design. Their secondary role will be investigating, identifying, and implementing new digital tools and technologies office-wide, from VR/AR/MR to digital fabrication, robotics, 3D scanning, drones, etc.

This position will ideally be based in Chicago; a New York-based position can also be considered.

Responsibilities
- Develop BIM execution plans for all projects at project kickoff and other key milestones
- Provide project teams with the appropriate Revit template file for all project types whether starting in concept, schematic, or design development
- Aid project teams during initial model set-up and during the CAD to BIM transition period
- Author and implement standard BIM workflows and processes
- Perform regular project team model audits to ensure standards are implemented properly
- Assist teams in addressing complex geometries
- Provide team training and continuing education to ensure all designers are fluent with the various digital design tools
- Assist with RFP and contract language regarding BIM and other design technology usage
- Work closely with office IT team to implement inter-office and cloud collaboration platforms for BIM (i.e. Revit Server, BIM360, C4R)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or relevant field
- Excellent communication and leadership skills and enthusiasm for good design
- Excellent Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit/Dynamo, AutoCAD, and Navisworks skills; knowledge of Revit API and applicable programming languages a plus
- Experience developing and implementing BIM execution plans, BIM office standards, and BIM content
- Experience in the AEC industry with a working knowledge of all aspects of architectural services: master planning, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration/project delivery
- Experience with multiple BIM/CAD roles: training and support mentor, project team member, and strategic leader

Visualization Specialist

Studio Gang is seeking a Visualization Specialist for our Chicago office with experience in 2-D and 3-D architectural imaging. This individual should have a diverse interest in design and a strong ability to creatively solve complex problems. They will work collaboratively with the imaging team and architects and designers in all Studio offices on all phases of project development. The ideal candidate should be attentive to detail and an effective visual communicator. Advanced architectural collage, illustration, rendering, and animation skills are required to support the Studio’s current projects, enhance existing visualization techniques, and help engage emerging technologies. We seek an organized team member who excels at creating compelling imagery and is comfortable with the challenges of architectural workflows, design iteration, and deadlines.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or relevant field
- Demonstrated experience developing 2-D and 3-D architectural presentations
- Proficient with various digital modeling, rendering, animation, and editing software: 3ds Max, V-Ray, AutoCAD, Rhino, (Revit is a plus); Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint
- Experience with real-time imaging and developing VR game engine media: Unreal Engine, Unity
- Thorough understanding of 2-D and 3-D software interoperability and workflows

An interest in photography, filmmaking, sound production, and editing is a plus.

Accounts Payable Coordinator

Studio Gang is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Chicago office. This role will provide accounts payable support for all Studio Gang offices. We are searching for a self-motivated team player with strong client service skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, creative environment. In addition, this person must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and able to juggle multiple priorities with grace.

Responsibilities
- Review and process employee expenses for reimbursement
- Enter accounts payable invoices into InFocus and prepare for payment
- Manage monthly benefit billing reconciliation, ensuring accurate billing/invoicing
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Train employees on how to properly fill out timesheets and expense reports
- Assist Staff Accountant with compiling backup required for monthly invoices to client specifications
- Assist with coordination of building management contracts
- Assist with other office support tasks as needed

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Clearview InFocus or similar accounting system experience is a plus
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including a technical (slightly beyond basic) understanding of MS Excel
- Strong customer service and communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information

Studio Manager

Studio Gang is seeking a Studio Manager based in our Chicago office who will lead our Studio Support team (Office Coordinators and Administrative Assistants) across our four growing offices. The Studio Manager’s primary responsibilities will be the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of our physical studio spaces, logistical support for internal and external meetings and events, and management of support staff—helping to define the organization and structure of this team and ensuring their professional development and support.

Responsibilities
- Oversee, train, and develop our Studio Support team (Office Coordinators and Administrative Assistants) across all offices
- Manage the upkeep and ensure the functionality of Studio Gang’s facilities, including the office and meeting spaces
- Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external events, activities, and initiatives
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and other teams to develop and implement firm-wide administrative policies and procedures

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 7-10 years of related experience at the Studio Manager level and/or managing multiple team members is preferred
- Available to travel between offices as needed (anticipated 2-4 trips annually)
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills; proactive and a self-starter
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, exceptional judgment, and diplomacy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite

Executive Assistant

Studio Gang is seeking an Executive Assistant for our Chicago office with a positive and professional “can-do” attitude, who will provide a wide range of administrative support for our General Counsel and leadership team. This individual will assist the General Counsel in tracking, editing, and issuing various legal documents. Working collaboratively with the rest of our Studio and Principal Support team, they will also coordinate travel arrangements: organizing itineraries and preparing travel reimbursements and expense reports. They will maintain the calendars of several Principals, including coordinating and scheduling appointments and meetings with strong follow-up; preparing agendas and meeting materials; and communicating with meeting participants. They will facilitate day-to-day administrative tasks for the Principals they support and will welcome their guests. They will also prepare and edit outgoing correspondence and other documents, and will manage incoming communications. They may also provide back-up for the receptionist and the rest of the Studio and Principal Support team and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution 2–4 years of related experience at the Executive Assistant level and/or managing multiple managers is preferred
- Experience working with legal documents is preferred
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to collaborate well with multiple personalities and handle concurrent tasks, setting priorities with ease, and being flexible
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, exceptional judgment, and diplomacy
