Office Coordinator, New York

We’re seeking an Office Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of our New York office and provide support to the Design Principal. Responsibilities include managing front desk activities such as answering phones, greeting guests, and managing deliveries; overseeing the Design Principal’s calendar and assisting with other administrative needs; managing expense reports, timekeeping, and correspondence; facilitating office meetings including conference room maintenance, equipment setup, and catering; booking travel for staff; assisting with all general clerical requests including copies, prints, and scans; serving as liaison between the New York and Chicago offices; coordinating and liaising with building management; ordering and restocking office supplies; assisting with new hire orientation; coordinating with and assisting the IT Manager with employee hardware and software setup as needed; and performing other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Previous experience in an administrative support role or as an executive assistant
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to deliver a consistently high level of service with professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the firm, clients, and subcontractors
Experience managing multiple calendars in Outlook
Experience booking travel
Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational and technical skills
Must be able to determine priorities, take ownership of tasks, and exhibit a high level of initiative and follow-through

BIM Manager

We’re searching for a BIM Manager to join our Chicago office. The BIM Manager will develop execution plans and models for all projects; provide clean, correct reference models as each project’s Revit modeling begins; assist teams in addressing complex geometries; and provide continuing education and development for staff. This is a new position at the Studio, and one challenge will be to develop a BIM management system that can respond to our design process. The BIM Manager will also ensure that BIM systems align with the Studio’s IT infrastructure and standards and maintain updated software systems.

Requirements
A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Excellent Rhino, AutoCAD, and Revit skills
Experience with multiple BIM/CAD roles: training and support mentor, project team member, and strategic leader

Shop Manager, New York

We’re hiring a model shop manager for our New York office. This person understands modeling as an architectural tool for design and will oversee the planning and execution of project models. The Shop Manager will assist senior leadership in directing and managing the project models with the team, mentoring staff, representing Studio Gang to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. The Shop Manager will have exceptional design talent, an understanding of materials and hand and digital tools, and the technical skills that are required to oversee the planning and execution of project models. Maintaining and operating the shop facility, tools, and supplies, this role will be responsible for leadership and coordination of project models with team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from concept through construction administration, as well as model transportation and installations.

Requirements
Extensive experience in architectural modeling
Prior project management and planning experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Rhino and AutoCAD skills

A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture is preferred.

Project Architects

We’re searching for experienced Project Architects with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience to join our Chicago, New York, and San Francisco offices.

Project Architects are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist senior leadership in directing and managing the project team, mentoring staff, representing the firm to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents.

A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit) are required. Must have prior project management and strategic planning experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect is strongly preferred.

This role is responsible for significant aspects, daily design, and/or technical development of projects and must exhibit exceptional design talent and a deep understanding of all project phases.
