Human Resources Manager

We’re seeking an energetic and proactive full-time Human Resources Manager to support our growing staff and three national offices from our Chicago headquarters. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that is critical in maintaining the culture of the Studio and a positive work environment. The Human Resources Manager will lead all HR functions, including payroll, benefits, performance reviews, immigration and visa requests, training and development, employee relations, and regulatory compliance. This role will facilitate all phases of hiring, working with Studio Gang staff on recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new staff.

The Human Resources Manager works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, is supported by a payroll coordinator, works closely with Finance staff, and interacts with all employees.

Resourceful and responsible, the Human Resources Manager should be enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and contributing to a unique culture in a rapidly growing, creative environment. The Human Resources Manager must have solid judgment, a collaborative working style, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional experience within an architecture or other creative firm is highly preferred.

Requirements
7–10 years of HR experience, preferably at an architecture or design firm
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
PHR or SPHR certification preferable
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills

BIM Manager

We’re searching for a BIM Manager to join our Chicago office. The BIM Manager will develop execution plans and models for all projects; provide clean, correct reference models as each project’s Revit modeling begins; assist teams in addressing complex geometries; and provide continuing education and development for staff. This is a new position at the Studio, and one challenge will be to develop a BIM management system that can respond to our design process. The BIM Manager will also ensure that BIM systems align with the Studio’s IT infrastructure and standards and maintain updated software systems.

Requirements
A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Excellent Rhino, AutoCAD, and Revit skills
Experience with multiple BIM/CAD roles: training and support mentor, project team member, and strategic leader

Shop Manager, New York

We’re hiring a model shop manager for our New York office. This person understands modeling as an architectural tool for design and will oversee the planning and execution of project models. The Shop Manager will assist senior leadership in directing and managing the project models with the team, mentoring staff, representing Studio Gang to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. The Shop Manager will have exceptional design talent, an understanding of materials and hand and digital tools, and the technical skills that are required to oversee the planning and execution of project models. Maintaining and operating the shop facility, tools, and supplies, this role will be responsible for leadership and coordination of project models with team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from concept through construction administration, as well as model transportation and installations.

Requirements
Extensive experience in architectural modeling
Prior project management and planning experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Rhino and AutoCAD skills

A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture is preferred.

Project Architects

We’re searching for experienced Project Architects with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience to join our Chicago, New York, and San Francisco offices.

Project Architects are responsible for leadership and coordination of project team members and consultants throughout all phases of design, from conceptual design through construction administration. This role will assist senior leadership in directing and managing the project team, mentoring staff, representing the firm to the client, and participating in presentations and meetings. Exceptional design talent and technical skills are required in order to oversee the planning and execution of project documents.

A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit) are required. Must have prior project management and strategic planning experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required. A licensed/registered architect is strongly preferred.

Design Team Members

We’re currently hiring designers with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Chicago, New York, and San Francisco offices. 

Design Team Members work on all phases of design, from conceptual design to construction administration. This role is responsible for significant aspects, daily design, and/or technical development of projects and must exhibit exceptional design talent and a deep understanding of all project phases.
